This Privacy Policy explains how Pooja Hospital ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Pooja Hospital mobile application (the "App") to book appointments, view doctor information, and manage your healthcare records with us.
1. Information We Collect
When you register and use the App, we collect:
- Account information: your name, mobile number, and email address, used to create and verify your account via OTP (one-time password).
- Personal details: gender, date of birth, and address, provided when you complete your profile.
- Profile photo: if you choose to upload one.
- Appointment information: the doctor, department, date, and an optional reason for visit that you provide when booking an appointment.
- Emergency contact details: if you choose to provide them.
- Device and notification data: a device token used solely to deliver appointment reminders and hospital announcements to your device via push notification.
- Photos or files: only if you choose to attach them when asking a question through the app's "Ask a Question" feature.
We do not collect precise location data. Tapping "Map" or "WhatsApp" within the app simply opens Google Maps or WhatsApp on your device using your hospital's registered address and contact number — we do not track your location or read your WhatsApp messages.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your patient account.
- To book, confirm, and manage your appointments with our doctors.
- To send you appointment confirmations, reminders, and token/queue updates.
- To send you hospital announcements (such as health camps, holiday notices, or important updates) if you have notifications enabled.
- To allow our medical and administrative staff to provide you with appropriate care.
- To respond to questions you submit through the app.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. Your information is only shared with:
- Doctors and hospital staff directly involved in your care.
- Service providers who help us operate the app, such as our hosting provider and Google Firebase (used only to deliver push notifications).
- Authorities, only where required by applicable law.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your information is stored on secured servers with restricted access, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls limited to authorized hospital staff. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and appointment information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you with medical services and comply with applicable medical record-keeping and legal obligations.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- You can view and update most of your profile information directly within the app.
- You can turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us using the details below, subject to our medical record retention obligations under applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by patients and their guardians. Where a minor is registered as a patient, this is done and managed by a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.
8. Third-Party Services
The App uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging solely to deliver push notifications, and may link out to Google Maps and WhatsApp as described above. These third parties have their own privacy policies governing their use of information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
